Honoring Nancy Sue Aberg — A Legacy of Heart, Spirit, and Adventure
On April 2, 2025, the British Grit family lost its heart — Nancy Sue Aberg, our founder and fearless leader, passed away peacefully at the age of 78.
Born June 13, 1946, in San Diego, California, Nancy lived a remarkable life filled with compassion, adventure, and unstoppable spirit.
After graduating from the University of California, Davis, she worked alongside some of the top veterinary professionals as a large-animal anesthesiologist before following her deeper calling — raising and preserving the legendary essence of the Jack Russell Terrier.
British Grit Jack Russells are more than just dogs. They are a living legacy of Nancy’s passion for preserving the courage, loyalty, and intelligence of the breed she loved so fiercely.
When Nancy wasn’t raising puppies, you could find her riding horses, gold mining in the California hills, or scuba diving across the world. She lived every moment fully, boldly, and without apology.
Today, her spirit lives on through every wagging tail and bold heart in the British Grit family.

Our family companions all have fantastic dispositions, amazing intelligence, and classic conformation. All of our Jack Russell Terriers are registered with JRTCA (The Jack Russell Terrier Club of America) and or the JRTCGB (The Jack Russell Terrier Club of Great Britain), depending on their origin of birth. All of our Jack Russell Terrier puppies at a year old are eligible for application for registration by the JRTCA. We are proud that our terriers have authentic bloodlines that originated in the United Kingdom.
Our Jack Russell Puppies Are Socialized
Our puppies are born in our home and are a part of our family. We keep a close eye on each one of them, watching their growth, health, and general well-being. We give them lots of socialization, so as to make it easier for the puppy and owner to bond. Due to our background in veterinary medicine, our puppies are provided with health care, which includes vaccinations and regular worming. This is your assurance of purchasing a healthy and well-socialized puppy or mature dog. We stand three very handsome stud dogs and have excellent quality puppies available by reservation throughout the year. We do have a waiting list and we take great care and consideration in personally placing each puppy with the right owner.
